The farmer’s daughter moved away from the Midwest to seek a career in teaching. Her first job was teaching English and General Music. The music room had a piano and stairs. The teacher supplies the educational materials. Digging deep into her roots in classical piano lessons, she played records, the piano and taught the instruments of the orchestra through posters. She became the talk of the school as she labeled the keys with scotch tape to teach basic scales.
Music became a part of her marriage to a musician, and she began to write the lyrics to his melodies. The poetry from her journals and the images of her mind made the music come to life.
Fast forward to today. She plays the piano for her grandchildren and is moving forward to create her own album with the relaxing sounds of chords and melodies to calm her nerves and soothe the listener.
